KUB® rupture discs are used to protect the most demanding industrial processes from overpressure and underpressure, and to protect safety valves. They can be used on liquids, gases and steams, as well as on two-phase media.
At lower process pressures they can be installed between standard flanges, at higher process pressures they can be installed in installation units.
Main advantages of KUB rupture discs:
- Bursting pressure does not change as the rupture disc ages.
- Rupture disc can be loaded with up to 98% burst pressure.
- High corrosion resistance.
- Universally applicable for gases, steams and liquids.
- Excellent tightness due to sealing metal - metal.
- Breaking does not result in fracture of the rupture disc.
Patent

In 1774, the mathematician Leonard Euler discovered a formula for deflecting a pressure loaded rod. In 1991 REMBE® launched the patented KUB (Knickstab-Umkehr-Berstscheibe) rupture disc.
Using laser CNC technology in the manufacture of rupture discs, a surprisingly narrow tolerances of burst pressure (±2%) can be achieved. The burst pressure is determined by the cross section loaded on the diffraction. The bearing element is separated from the medium, so it is not exposed to potential aggressive operation of the medium. This ensures a long service life and constant bursting pressure.
The surface of the KUB® rupture discs, which is on the side of the media, is smooth and suitable for CIP cleaning when used in sterile and aseptic conditions.
